Married to Marcus Aurelius in AD 145, Faustina Jr. played a crucial role in the continuity of the Antonine dynasty, bearing 13 children, including future emperor Commodus.

Faustina was actively involved in charitable works, particularly those benefiting Roman women and girls.

After her death in AD 175, Marcus Aurelius deified Faustina, and she was honored with a temple on the Roman Forum.
