Faustina was married to Antoninus Pius before his accession to the throne, and their union was marked by mutual respect and affection. As empress, she wielded considerable influence, both in her role as a supportive consort and as a mother to future emperors, including Marcus Aurelius.

She was renowned for her charitable works and patronage, particularly towards Roman women and children.

After her death in AD 140, Antoninus Pius had Faustina deified, and a temple was dedicated to her in the Roman Forum.
